Singapore trip checklist: eSIM before you fly

What should I know before I fly?

Prices in Singapore are in the Singapore dollar (SGD). The eSIM plans on this site are priced in USD.

This eSIM is for Singapore, including Marina Bay, Orchard Road, and Sentosa. The same eSIM also works in Malaysia.

What should I do with the eSIM before the flight?

Installing the day before the flight uses no days. Days start when the eSIM first connects to a network. Pick one day more than the stay.

1. 1Check the phone is an unlocked eSIM phone.
2. 2Buy the plan and wait for the QR email. The QR also stays on your order page. No documents are required.
3. 3Install it on Wi-Fi the day before you fly, or on Wi-Fi when you land, and label it Singapore.
4. 4Keep Data Roaming off on your home SIM.
5. 5After landing, turn on Data Roaming for the Singapore line and choose it for mobile data.

Which apps are useful, and which may not work?

Use it for Grab, maps, and WhatsApp. WhatsApp calls work over data. Grab is ride-hailing.

What else should I sort out?

• The QR is valid for 30 days and scans once. Do not delete the eSIM during the trip.
• There are no top-ups. Buy a new plan if you need more data or days.
• Hotspot is included.
• A layover uses a 1-day plan. An overnight stop or a hop to Johor Bahru uses 3 days · 3 GB.
